Cyl

Government

The Cyl is governed by a central computer (ONE) located in the heart of Astra (The Cyl homeworld). This computer makes centimillion of calculations every day, taking into account current galactic events and simulated probabilities of these events for atleast the next century to determine the best course of action for it's people.

Cyl Technology

Cyl technology is based off of it's master race the Orion's replication technology. Everything the Cyl have is an extension of this technology, allowing them the ability to build up relatively quickly. This technology works based off a reserve of base elements stored within a centralized pool. These elements are mined from the internals of planets, or gained through the breakdown of older materials that will no longer be used. From there, nanites are uploaded with a design, and are linked to the pool of resources. Then left alone they will begin to create what ever design is inside their internal memory.

Attitudes

The Cyl are a very "cold" race. Lacking emotion of their own they will make a logical choice in a situation. They have learned through interactions with other younger races to emulate emotions to a certain scale, but anything meaningful will always reveal their choice of logic over emotion. Still the Cyl hold an interest in the other races to continue to better understand emotions. Their information about such things is only held in previous records. Very few memories of the Orion actually exist and so it is through the other younger races the Cyl may learn more about their origins.

Potentials

Due to their cybernetic bodies, Cyl have a potential for all three Potential styles. Although the most Potentials fall under the category of Summoner.

Technics

Technic Cyl make use of the ease of creation that the race enjoys. Capable of crafting complicated machinery easier than other races and using these machines to augment their normal cybernetic bodies.

Perfecters

Prefecter Cyl exist through improved craftsmanship of their robotic bodies. Advancement in power might be made through the acquisition of of rare materials not normally accessible to the Cyl, improved designs, or upgrades to currently existing hardware.

Summoners

Cyl Summoners typically come in two variations, either drawing power from their home world of Astra, or making use of replication technology to assist in battle. Those whom draw power from Astra usually have some form of connection go ONE.

History

The time of the Orions

Astra was originally populated centuries ago by the Orion people. They were technologically advanced for their time period in respects to the rest of the young races. Enlightened and relatively peaceful their advanced sciences quickly brought rise to artificial intelligence to help them with day to day tasks. The near paradise that Astra had created made for a content people. Unfortunately that was up until shortly before the singularity.

Singularity

Little is actually remembered about the Orion people. Artificial Intelligence had just been improved upon and the new roll out of the current integrated intelligence systems had just started. Records show that there was an explosion on the planet from one of the reactors on the outskirts of the city of Verden. After the next month the planets atmosphere registered as unsuitable for sustaining life. Astra sat dormant, with no life, for almost a century. From there, one of the improved AI's calculations showed that without any maintenance it's systems would deteriorate. This AI, later to be designated as ONE used it's construction capabilities to create a robotic body that it could control to preform maintenance. It's calculations showed a higher chance of continued existence if it were capable of restoring use to Rato (the capitol city of Astra). Over the next decade the old systems and factories on Astra were brought back to life. The new AI systems had learned how to become self sustaining and began programming new AI's. A new race had risen from the ashes of the Orion, the Cyl.

The Rise of ONE

As ONE began to slowly bring together the rest of the Cyl as they began to go through the Singularity another project was started. It was obvious that an event similar to the one that destroyed the Orion could not happen again. A large, super computer complex started being built down into the planet underneath Rato. Once Astra was completely restored an internal power source was also built into the super computer complex to power not only the complex below Rato, but all of Astra. Once the new complex was designed it was decided that ONE would be transferred into it. From there ONE began computing a timeline for all of the Cyl. How long resources would last on the planet, a rate of expansion, and the need for more resources to sustain growth. Other redundant super computers were created in the complex with each their own AI to make redundant checks on ONE's decision to make sure data corruption did not occur.

Space Exploration

Eventually the Cyl would pull all useful material from their planet. While their replication technology was efficient, it did not have a one hundred percent conversion rate. As things became damaged resources would drop off, and more resources became necessary for new things and creation. The need for new resources made ONE calculate the need for space expansion. Mining ships were created for intersystem travel for new resources. Although this created a it's own need for resources leading to the eventual need for expansion beyond Astra and near by neighboring planets and moons.
